Supremacy 1914

Supremacy 1914, unpacked

Supremacy 1914 is the grand strategy corner and the heaviest thing in the crate. Thirty players, a map of Europe, armies that march for hours and production that runs while you sleep.

The fighting is the smaller half. Coalitions get negotiated in messages and the in-game press, and the player who arrives with three allies and a plan beats the one with the larger army almost every time.

Rounds end, which matters. A bad start is temporary, the map resets, and nobody accumulates a permanent advantage from having joined first.

Why it earned a slot

  • Real-time map
  • Economy & armies
  • Diplomacy

Who takes this corner

Players who like negotiation and long horizons, and anybody who enjoys a game that keeps moving in their absence.

If you cannot check in for two days running, this is the entry that will punish it.

Opening moves

Message every neighbour in the first hour. Information is cheaper than artillery and more useful early.

Build the economy before the army. Players who mobilise immediately stall on day four with nothing to show for it.
